Let’s talk jewelry! Something I have been asked but have never shared before is where I get it, what I am looking for in a particular piece, etc. First let’s talk about my jewelry style. I am pretty picky and absolutely love to purchase pieces that are durable and transcendental. Meaning, pieces that would never go out of style and that pretty much go with EVERYTHING! So, I tend to lean towards gold metal jewelry because, well, just like I said:
- It lasts forever
- Goes with anything
- It’s transcendental- Will never go out of style!
I usually stick to designs that are simple and dainty, but it doesn’t mean I don’t get attracted to bigger statement pieces. But I am very selective of those “unique” statement pieces.
When it comes to the amount of gold karats of my jewelry, I tend to stick to 10k. Reason one, it is a lot more resistant to scratches and it’s a bit harder that higher Ks. Reason two, it is more affordable!
Rings
Most of my rings are bands of different thickness. Actually, all of them are bands! Ha! I tend to layer them or wear them solo. All my thin stackable rings are from Mejuri. If you have never heard of them, check them out. They have beautiful pieces, vermeil or solid gold, at very affordable prices.
The thickest band ring I own measures 5mm and its actually a men’s wedding band that I purchased at the jewelry district in downtown LA. If you are near the LA area, you must stop. There are numerous jewelry shops with so many pieces to choose from and super affordable as well.
The black onyx stone ring that I wear on my index finger is my ABSOLUTE favorite. This my friends is my statement ring. Its big, vintage and holds a special sentimental value because it belonged to my mother. It is the biggest ring I own.
Earrings
Just can’t seem to get enough of these. My earcuff (that I wear daily), the mini hoops, and the medium hoops are also from Mejuri. My sphere studs are from TJMAXX! Can you believe that? TJMAXX is another great stop for gold jewelry at amazing prices.

Bracelets
I am not huge on bracelets. But I do wear two daily that are the same style. Thin and dainty. These I also bought at the jewelry district in LA. They are simple but I love them!
Necklaces
Well, guess where I got those from? LOL. Downtown LA! Only my small spheres choker is from Mejuri. The locket that I wear most of the time was a vintage find that I looped through one of my jewelry district chains. I’ll take any thin chain of any size. I love layering them!

These are the pieces that I wear daily. I really try to stick to gold materials because they are a lot more resistant to wear and tear. Gold will never change colors on you. It will last you a very VERY long time and because we are talking about its longevity I would suggest you stick to simple designed pieces so that they never go out of style.
If you want to start your collection but are on a budget, definitely visit the jewelry district in LA if you are in the area. If you are not, check Mejuri out, they ship to anywhere in the USA and have beautiful pieces.
I hope you find this little insight helpful!
Until next time!
